SKG Speech & Language Therapy service is committed to protecting the privacy of information provided by clients. This privacy policy explains how your personal data is used, stored and managed when you access our services. We only store information that is needed in order to provide a service. Stephanie Kerr-Guest is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a Data Controller. You may use SKG Speech therapy website without providing any personal information. However, if you wish to make an enquiry or booking via the website, you are requested to provide relevant contact details, such as your name, e-mail address and contact telephone number to enable us to respond to your enquiry. You may add comments or queries which might also contain personal information. If your enquiry does not result in your child being seen by SKG Speech & Language Therapy service then this personal information will be deleted once your enquiry has been dealt with. If your child is subsequently seen by SKG Speech & Language Therapy service these details may be added to their personal record.

What information do SKG Speech & Language therapy collect about you?
SKG Speech & Language therapy will collect personal information, name and contact details when you contact us via our website, email or telephone. SKG Speech & Language therapy will collect personal, medical and financial information if you choose to access our Speech & Language therapy services. We will only collect and hold personal information that is relevant for purposes of providing speech and language therapy services requested by our clients. Where the client is under the age of 18 years old, consent is obtained from the parent / legal guardian and information relating to the parent/ legal guardian will also be collected, for communication and invoicing purposes.

Our lawful basis for processing personal information and storing personal information, is to comply with our legal obligations.
It is a legal requirement for all Speech and Language Therapists to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The HCPC has clear standards of conduct, performance and ethics that all registrants must adhere to. These standards affect the way in which we process and share information.

How will SKG Speech & Language therapy use the personal information about you?
Personal information collected by us via SKG Speech & Language therapy website, email, telephone or face to face, is stored and used by us, for the purpose of delivering your child’s speech and language therapy. Electronic Personal details are stored in password protected and encrypted devices systems. Some information is stored on third party systems, as part of the service that is provided. These third parties act as data processors and have their own privacy policies that also protect your data. The following third parties are used by SKG Speech and language therapy:

By becoming a client of SKG Speech & Language therapy, you agree for yours/ yours child data to be stored in this manner. Therapy service and shall only be used for the purposes of delivering appropriate speech and language therapy services to your child.
All information will be held and processed in line with the principles of the Data Protection Act.
Sharing of Personal Information
With your consent, information about your child’s speech and language needs will be shared with other professionals involved in your child’s care, when it is in your child’s best interests.
The therapist at SKG Speech & Language therapy will not share your personal data with third parties without your consent unless there is a legal duty or requirement to do so In such exceptional cases, for example in cases of safeguarding and child protection, the client will be informed by the therapist at SKG Speech & Language therapy that their data has been shared, and the data sharing may have to take place without the prior consent of the client/carer.
We do not sell client details to any third parties.

Your to right Access your information and correction
• You have the right to a copy of information we hold about your child.
• You have the right to ask for your record to be amended if you believe that it is wrong.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask to correct or remove information that you think is inaccurate by contacting us at the address below.
Retention of Records
Client records will be held, as per the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists guidelines which is: until the child/ young person turns 25, or if 17 at the end of therapy until they are 26. After this the client record will confidentially be destroyed and be permanently deleted unless otherwise requested by the client/carer.
